Last Night's Supermoon

 I took some pictures of last nights Pink Super Moon. They came out pretty good. For me the night sky is just a remarkable gift to us as human beings. Well, maybe I should say the night sky is a beautiful gift flat out.  One of the unique things about Starry Night Castle is that it will have an observatory with a big telescope. That way people can come and stay the night in one of the guest rooms and stay up late to use and enjoy the telescope.

This second picture is a composite of two different photos I took last night.. The original photo was of the brick buildings and the moon. But to get the building I had to over expose the moon.. And then replaced it with another shot where the moon was exposed better.

The quest to build a castle

 It's been something within me for a very long time - the quest to build
a castle. And there are a lot of reasons for me wanting to do it. On this blog I will tell you some stories about the quest and I will take you to various castles.

  First let me tell you a little story about my first big encounter with a castle. And, of course, it is the most famous castle in the world.

 I was in the military and stationed in Germany and I saved up my money to take a bus trip to Oktoberfest in Munich.  It was a fun and interesting event. And, while I was there I took another bus trip to Neuschwanstein Castle. It is two hour bus ride from Munich and when I arrived I had zero money. 

And of course there was an entrance fee!

So, I ended up walking around the outside of it. That was it. I couldn't go inside. 

The most famous castle in the world, and I got so close to it but never could fulfill my dream. It was a very big unrequite for me. Maybe some day I will go back and actually go inside. 

 This isn't the whole reason why I want to build a castle. There are many other reasons. And over time I will reveal these things to you. But for now take a look at this old picture of Neuschwanstein castle.
