It's been something within me for a very long time - the quest to build
a castle. And there are a lot of reasons for me wanting to do it. On this blog I will tell you some stories about the quest and I will take you to various castles.

First let me tell you a little story about my first big encounter with a castle. And, of course, it is the most famous castle in the world.
I was in the military and stationed in Germany and I saved up my money to take a bus trip to Oktoberfest in Munich. It was a fun and interesting event. And, while I was there I took another bus trip to Neuschwanstein Castle. It is two hour bus ride from Munich and when I arrived I had zero money.
And of course there was an entrance fee!
So, I ended up walking around the outside of it. That was it. I couldn't go inside.
The most famous castle in the world, and I got so close to it but never could fulfill my dream. It was a very big unrequite for me. Maybe some day I will go back and actually go inside.
This isn't the whole reason why I want to build a castle. There are many other reasons. And over time I will reveal these things to you. But for now take a look at this old picture of Neuschwanstein castle.
